The Data-Driven Decision Making (D3M) Lab proudly participated in the Second International Conference on Software Engineering of Emerging Technologies (SEET 2026)<\/strong> held at Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pennsylvania. The conference brought together researchers, students, and practitioners from around the world to discuss emerging advances in software engineering, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and healthcare technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

D3M Lab research was highlighted through the presentation of two peer-reviewed papers accepted to the SEET 2026 proceedings<\/strong>, reflecting the lab’s growing contributions to innovative computing, immersive technologies, and healthcare-focused applications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A D3M Lab student researcher Zainab Qazi<\/strong> presented “Eye-RIS: Design and Evaluation of a Low-Latency Voice-Driven AR System for Real-Time Clinical Document Analysis on Smart Glasses.”<\/strong> The project integrates augmented reality, voice-based interaction, optical character recognition (OCR), semantic retrieval, and large language model technologies into a hands-free clinical information system. The platform is designed to improve access to medical information and support healthcare professionals through real-time document analysis using smart glasses. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Sayed Mohsin Reza presented the paper “VALS: A Model-Agnostic Virtual Reality Framework for Real-Time Annotation of 3D Anatomical Models.”<\/strong> The research introduces an accessible virtual reality framework that enables users to load, explore, and annotate anatomical models using consumer-grade VR hardware. By reducing the cost and technical barriers associated with immersive educational systems, the framework has the potential to support anatomy education, biomedical visualization, and collaborative learning environments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
