We are excited to announce that a new research proposal submitted to the CTSI Bridges to Translation X Pilot Project<\/strong> has been approved for funding. The project, led by Dr. Thiru Annaswamy (Principal Investigator, PI), with Dr. Sayed Reza  and Dr. Tran serving as Co-Investigator <\/strong>(Co-I), was selected from a competitive pool of applicants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This grant supports interdisciplinary translational research aimed at advancing healthcare innovation. Dr. Reza’s role in the project highlights the lab’s commitment to collaborative, high-impact research that bridges data-driven insights with real-world clinical applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AI\/Virtual Reality Aim of the project: <\/strong> To incorporate user-design principles to lower the technological barriers and improve in-home ease-of-use of our mixed reality-based prototype, Mr. MAPP, by (a) calibration of the exergaming system to adapt to patient\u2019s home constraints, (b) developing an easy to use interface with AI integration for in-home calibration of Mr.MAPP system, and (c) incorporate feature with AI by which users can switch to the real-world scene from the virtual scene possibly generated through AI by giving a gesture or a voice command.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
