Two students from the Data\u2011Driven Decision Making (D3M) Lab<\/strong> have been selected for the Multi\u2011Campus Research Experience for Undergraduates (MCREU)<\/strong> program for Summer 2026<\/strong>, recognizing their strong research potential and contributions to data\u2011driven interdisciplinary projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dhruv Sanghavi<\/strong> will work on deep learning\u2011based 3D segmentation of zebrafish morphology<\/em>, using a 3D U\u2011Net model to automate biological image analysis and support large\u2011scale atlasing in collaboration with Penn State College of Medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Om Patel<\/strong> will focus on AI\u2011driven analysis of diagnostic delay, service utilization, and suicide risk in personality disorders<\/em>, applying machine learning and explainable AI techniques to large healthcare datasets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These projects highlight the D3M Lab\u2019s commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers and advancing work at the intersection of data science, healthcare, and computational biology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
