This grant supports interdisciplinary translational research aimed at advancing healthcare innovation. Dr. Reza’s role in the project highlights the lab’s commitment to collaborative, high-impact research that bridges data-driven insights with real-world clinical applications.

AI/Virtual Reality Aim of the project: To incorporate user-design principles to lower the technological barriers and improve in-home ease-of-use of our mixed reality-based prototype, Mr. MAPP, by (a) calibration of the exergaming system to adapt to patient’s home constraints, (b) developing an easy to use interface with AI integration for in-home calibration of Mr.MAPP system, and (c) incorporate feature with AI by which users can switch to the real-world scene from the virtual scene possibly generated through AI by giving a gesture or a voice command.

We thank the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) for their support and look forward to contributing to this impactful initiative.
